Event Details

Hey All!!! First, let me thank you from the bottom of my heart for participating in the first annual Rock and Roll Bike Run. It's promising to be a blast and more importantly to help out a lot of people with Cystic Fibrosis, a disease that can cut life drastically short for people that have it. YOU ARE DOING A GREAT THING!

The R&R Bike Run will start at the Cocomo Joes with registration beginning at 10:30am Cocomo Joes. Cocomo Joes there will have a free buffet waiting for us as well as the first band (Easton Ashe). We'll get some food in our belly's and listen to some great music and then it's off to the Hideaway in Cave Creek.

The Hideaway, a legendary bar to the people of the AZ bike community will have one of the valley's best blues musicians by the name of Jammin' Jay playing, drink specials and a Hottest Bike contest. After some good music and good times at the Hideaway we'll head down to Dirty Dogs Saloon in N Scottsdale.

Dirty Dogs Saloon is definitely a place that indulges the wild side of the AZ biker (equiped with bartenders that literally swing from the rafters) where we'll meet up with Ms. Bike AZ for some autographs, pictures and some live music from Zimis (a pretty damn good cover band). We'll raffle off some of the great raffle prizes and then it's on to the final destination/wrap-up party at Flicka's Baja Cantina.

When we get to Flicka's there will be another free buffet waiting for us as well The Chris Parker Project (a pretty kick-ass six piece with horns if I do say so myself), we'll have great drink specials as well as our grand prize to raffle off as we party into the night and celebrate having helped out a great cause!

Once again, thank you so much for being a part of something that is very dear to mine and anyone that's ever been affected by Cystic Fibrosis's (both directly and indirectly) heart.

The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a nonprofit donor-supported organization, is to assure the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease.

What Is Cystic Fibrosis?

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that:

  • clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections; and
  • obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.

In the 1950s, few children with cystic fibrosis lived to attend elementary school. Today, advances in research and medical treatments have further enhanced and extended life for children and adults with CF. Many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30s, 40s and beyond.
